Drivin n Cryin return to Augusta, GA and the Miller Theater on Saturday, August 9.Atlanta-based folk rock act, Drivin N Cryin, have spent most of their career on tour. In October 1985 Drivin N Cryin played their first show at Atlanta’s famed 688 Club. Recent inductees to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Wisconsin Music Hall of Fame, founding members Kevn Kinney and Tim Nielsen find themselves enjoying a continued legacy, having survived the pressures of fame, a shifting musical landscape and multiple lineup changes. The current lineup includes guitarist Laur Joamets (Sturgill Simpson) and longtime drummer Dave V Johnson. The groundwork for A Brother’s Revival began prior to its establishment in 2019. David Goldflies (Rook) and his friend Gary Allman joined forces to form the Allman Goldflies Band (AGB) some years earlier. Part of the Retro Concert Series. A1A – The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show was formed in 1991 when lead vocalist/guitarist Jeff Pike invited Scott Nickerson, founder of the first Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Club, to join his already successful one-man tribute to Jimmy Buffett. In 1992, the band won a Jimmy Buffett Sound Alike Contest for Margaritaville Records, bringing them to the attention of Buffett and his organization. Starting in 1992, A1A was the first band to perform at and repeatedly headline the annual Jimmy Buffett ‘Meeting of The Minds’ Parrot Head Convention and many other national landmark yearly Parrot Head Events, which laid the foundation for the fundamental building and growth of the National Jimmy Buffett fan base, Parrot Head Club community and the Trop Rock and Coastal Americana Music genres as they are today. In 1993, A1A was invited to appear in Jimmy Buffett’s MTV Video, ‘Fruitcakes.’ In 1995, Jeff Pike performed with Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was recorded and released as “Jimmy Buffett’s Barometer Soup Radio Special.” This show still receives regular rotation on “Radio Margaritaville” on SiriusXM Radio. In 2016, A1A was honored to perform with Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally as their band in a private performance for State Dignitaries and some of Jimmy’s personal friends at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. The energy, musicianship, excitement, and continuous honest dedication to preserving Jimmy Buffett’s legacy that has always surrounded a Jeff Pike and A1A performance are an experience and driving force that has helped the band remain the first, foremost, and longest-running Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. Since 2014, Resurrection has built a reputation for being the gold standard by which other Journey tributes are measured. In its near decade long existence, the band has developed a Facebook following of over 52,000, nearly twice that of the next most followed Journey tribute act. During that time, the band has played in nearly 40 of the 50 states in the United States, including playing for 40,000 Chicago White Sox fans at US Cellular Field as part of their 10th anniversary celebration of having won the 2005 World Series.
