Joining forces with Rook is one of the Southern rock heavyweights: Mike Kach, former vocalist and keyboardist of Dickey Betts and Great Southern. The groundwork for A Brother’s Revival began prior to its establishment in 2019. David Goldflies (Rook) and his friend Gary Allman joined forces to form the Allman Goldflies Band (AGB) some years earlier. Eventually, Rook and Gary pursued different paths, and UltraArtists Agency from New Jersey approached Rook with the idea of building upon the AGB’s foundation. From that point, the band’s success grew exponentially. Part of the Retro Concert Series. A1A – The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show was formed in 1991 when lead vocalist/guitarist Jeff Pike invited Scott Nickerson, founder of the first Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head Club, to join his already successful one-man tribute to Jimmy Buffett. In 1992, the band won a Jimmy Buffett Sound Alike Contest for Margaritaville Records, bringing them to the attention of Buffett and his organization. Starting in 1992, A1A was the first band to perform at and repeatedly headline the annual Jimmy Buffett ‘Meeting of The Minds’ Parrot Head Convention and many other national landmark yearly Parrot Head Events, which laid the foundation for the fundamental building and growth of the National Jimmy Buffett fan base, Parrot Head Club community and the Trop Rock and Coastal Americana Music genres as they are today. In 1993, A1A was invited to appear in Jimmy Buffett’s MTV Video, ‘Fruitcakes.’ In 1995, Jeff Pike performed with Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was recorded and released as “Jimmy Buffett’s Barometer Soup Radio Special.” This show still receives regular rotation on “Radio Margaritaville” on SiriusXM Radio. In 2016, A1A was honored to perform with Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally as their band in a private performance for State Dignitaries and some of Jimmy’s personal friends at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. The energy, musicianship, excitement, and continuous honest dedication to preserving Jimmy Buffett’s legacy that has always surrounded a Jeff Pike and A1A performance are an experience and driving force that has helped the band remain the first, foremost, and longest-running Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives will perform at the Miller Theater on Saturday, March 15. Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy-winner, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree Marty Stuart picks up where he left off on Altitude, his first new album in five years, exploring a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, misfits and angels, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers. There’s a desert flare to the music here, a sweeping, spacious feel that conjures up wide-open horizons and endless stretches of two-lane highway, and the production is raw and cinematic to match, tipping its cap both to Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon as it balances jangle and twang in equal measure.
