John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine bursts forward with propulsive energy, while Thomas Pandolfi brings his virtuosic flair to two Gershwin favorites – the jazzy Second Rhapsody and playful I Got Rhythm Variations. The concert reaches its peak with Aaron Copland’s Symphony No. 3, whose stirring finale features the iconic “Fanfare for the Common Man.”
